Gifts and Activities For Your Mom
Mother’s Day is a holiday celebrated on the second Sunday in May for all mothers. The orginial Mother’s Day was in 1908, started by a woman named Anna Jarvis in honor of her mother, Ann Jarvis, who was a social activist. It began with many women’s group coming together in favor of peace and against war. During the 19th century, these peace groups had a common early activity which was the meeting of groups of mothers whose sons had fought or died on opposite sides of the American Civil War. It was the start of this holiday that brought Father’s Day and Grandparent Days to the forefront.

Going to Lunch
One thing moms really like is not having to cook on their special day so in honor of your mom, take her out to lunch and just enjoy your time together.

Homemade Gifts
This is the perfect time to dust off those art skills and make your mom a homemade gift. She probably would love a handmade card or even breakfast in bed. Or even make something with her, get a kit and make something together.

Go Out and About
My family likes to go to the state zoo so find something your mom will like to do personally. My suggestion: just ask and don’t guess. She will tell you, whether that is going to the park for a picnic, the cinema with the family, or even a weekend trip to the beach.

Whatever you do, do it with love and her day will be spectacular. Your mom just wants to spend time with you and her loved ones. Make this holiday the best so far!
