Ever since I found the suitcase record player at the thrift shop, I’ve dug out my old records, and have been traveling around looking for “new” finds.
Feast your eyes on this little gem I scored from Carolina Soul in Durham.
My old 45’s have a new home in this uber retro cool case, but it’s original flavor, likely from the 60’s. Note the avery tape label stating this one is case number 5.
I’m left wondering what might have been in 1,2,3,& 4 and if there was a 6th and beyond. Who owned this? Was it a mobile DJ from back in the day hosting a sock hop at the drive in or school dance?
It’s not that I need a copy of any number of songs we play in crystal clear digital sound on the radio, it’s the feel, and crackle and pops as the needle sets down on the groove before the1st note, it’s the smell of that old vinyl that really gets me going!
