We had such a great time at the Walk for Children’s this past weekend! All the money raised was for the UNC Children’s Hospital. If you’d still like to support the hospital visit uncchildrens.org.

Here’s your morning cuteness overload…
Thanks a lot, Thrillist. Actually, we really mean that–because they’ve included Raleigh’s downtown Warehouse District as one of the 12 neighborhoods in America that are about to get “crazy popular.” Why? Well, they say it’s for a number of reasons, including the $80-million dollar The Dillon, under construction on S. Harrington Street.
If you haven’t spent time in the Warehouse District, you’re missing out. And, so is your stomach (mmm…the food!) and your eyes, which can take in some awesome contemporary art. In my opinion, the Warehouse District in downtown Raleigh was the city’s last “Best Kept Secret”…and now that secret is out. Check the article out for yourself–and then go grab some BBQ for dinner tonight at The Pit. –Alli
This week, we are featuring Oscar, who is a 1 year old Chihuahua-Rat Terrier mix.
Oscar is a laid-back guy who’s pretty much up for anything and well-behaved in all situations we’ve seen him in.
If you’ve got a squeaky toy, a tennis ball, or a tug rope, he is definitely ready to play! If you’re ready to settle in with Netflix for the night, Oscar will sit (or sleep!) on the couch with you. He’s looking for a home that will give him a healthy balance of both, but he’s okay with a family that leans more to one side than the other.
Oscar is potty-trained and sleeps through the night. He is well-behaved when left alone as he quietly settles in for a nap, though once you return and pick up the leash to take him out for his potty break, he will be very excited at the thought of going for a nice walk and getting some playtime in!
Oscar is very sweet and will happily give you kisses. He will also use his big eyes to try and win you over for table scraps! Oscar gets along well with other dogs and is happy to play ball with them and play chase. He does not, however, like being chased by bigger dogs, and he will look for safety between your legs.
His favorite game of all, though, is to chase cats, so if you have kitties in your home, you’ll need to remind them to stand their ground and let Oscar know who’s in charge, or train him not to chase.
Oscar is great to walk. He’ll walk ahead of you, but he’ll keep pace with you. All you’ll need to look out for are passing cars–Oscar believes they are there to taunt him into a game of chase, so you’ll need to keep him on a short leash (no retractable leash) and keep a good hold on it so this pup stays safe.
If you think Oscar would be a great fit for your home, please submit an application for him! Learn more at secondchancenc.org.

There is a $4.99 delivery fee for using UberEats, but use promo code “EATSTRIANGLE” to get your first two orders free.
