Saturday on AT40 it’s the big songs this week in 1981! A couple of duets rule the charts: “Endless Love” by Diana Ross with Lionel Richie, and “Stop Draggin My Heart Around” by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty. He plays Dr. Noah Drake on TV’s hit ‘General Hospital’, and Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl” is racing up the charts. More TV action with the theme from “The Greatest American Hero” in the Top Ten. Country artists are making a respectable showing, with Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny Rogers, and Alabama all in the Top 20. The songs you know and love, some One Hit Wonders, and surprises too…Back to the 80s, every Saturday 6-10 am, with an encore presentation 8-midnight on KIX.
Sunday morning on AT40, KIX time-travels with the top of the pops this week 1973! It was Labor Day weekend, and we send out summer bopping to the new 8-track hits by Marvin Gaye, “Let’s Get It On”, Wings “Live and Let Die”, Helen Reddy “Delta Dawn”, and Al Green “Here I Am”. The band Stories is a Rod Stewart sound-alike with their Top Five hit “Brother Louie”. And for whatever reason, 1962’s “Monster Mash” has reentered the survey… early Happy Halloween! The countdown, Casey’s stories, and the Long Distance dedications…every Sunday 9-noon, only on KIX.
