Ingredients
For the dough

2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)

1 cup warm water (about 110°F)

1 tsp sugar

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil
For the toppings

½ cup pizza sauce

1–1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella

Pepperoni, cooked sausage, or veggies (bell peppers, mushrooms, olives)

Fresh basil (optional)

Olive oil for brushing

Red pepper flakes or grated parmesan (optional)
Instructions
1. Activate the yeastIn a large bowl, stir warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. Make the doughAdd flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. Let it risePlace dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
4. Shape the doughPreheat oven to 475°F. Punch down the dough and roll it into a circle. Pinch the bottom into a point and make a small indent at the top center to form a heart shape. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
5. Toppings timeSpread sauce evenly, add cheese, and arrange toppings (pepperoni hearts are very encouraged).
6. Bake and enjoyBake for 12–15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Finish with basil, a drizzle of olive oil, or chili flakes.
