It’s the Original American Top 40 with Casey Kasem … featuring hits from 1972 and 1982. Presented by Habitat for Humanity Restores and Affordable Dentures and Implants!
Saturday on AT40 hear the big songs this week in 1982! Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Rocky III are Box Office hits and have soundtrack songs in the countdown. The Steve Miller Band is working some top five magic with “Abracadabra”. Men at Work move into the top ten with their quirky “Who Can It Be Now?” And back when he was known as “John Cougar”, has two songs in the survey, “Hurts So Good” and last week’s #1 “Jack and Diane”..can he repeat that?? Two chances to hear AT40 on KIX , Saturday 6-10am, with an encore presentation at 8pm to midnight.
Sunday morning on KIX, Casey Kasem plays back the favorite tunes this week in 1972. What a smorgasbord of hits: Soul from The O’Jays with “Backstabbers”, Country from Mac Davis with “Baby Don’t Get Hooked on Me”, Rock from Raspberries with “Go All The Way”, plus a hunka hunka Elvis “Burning Love”, and just for fun the nod-nod wink-wink classic “My Ding A Ling” by Chuck Berry! It’s all good and fine for this mixed bag but can they compete with fast-riser Michael Jackson with “Ben” for #1? The Countdown, Casey’s stories, and the Long Distance Dedications…every Sunday 9am-noon, only on KIX.
